Photo-Finish: Under Starters Orders

Taking inspiration from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games this exciting and dynamic project combines photography and sport. Working with professional photographers Andrew Conroy and Tim Logan, children from schools all over Sheffield have created a photographic portfolio of the sports and games they play and watch.
The project has been made possible with the help of a number of professional athletes from around the city, who gave up their time to go into schools and run sports demonstrations that the children photographed. On other occasions the sports activities were organised by the schools participating in the project.
The photographs themselves will be shown in venues around Sheffield during the 2011 Sheffield Children's Festival at Bank Street Arts and various sporting venues throughout the city including Ponds Forge.
Some of the children will also go on to take part in the Young Photographers project - part of the 2011 Sainsbury’s UK School Games that come to Sheffield in September.
